Alguien tendrá que serlo
A reflection on the importance of being HIVvisible all 365 days of the year.
For people living with HIV, December 1st is all 365 days of the year.
Those of us who choose to be visible are neither better nor worse than those who choose not to be. But our visibility brings something immense. Someone has to do it now, just as others did before. Let us imagine if it were otherwise, if we had all remained silent. What situation would we be in? Who would have spoken out, taken to the streets, remembered the first dead, cared for their legacy, demanded health policies? Someone has to do it, for those who did. Also for those who never will.
With texts by doctors Pedro Cahn and Santiago Moreno Guillén, by Carmen Martín, Gastón Devisich, and journalist Emilio de Benito. Someone will have to be.
