Annie Leibovitz - Edición Limitada XXL
The coveted SUMO by Annie Leibovitz in an unlimited XXL edition showcases over 40 years of work by the renowned photographer, from intimate reports for Rolling Stone magazine in the 1970s, to elegant portraits for Vanity Fair and Vogue. This edition includes iconic images and photos that had never or rarely been seen before.
When Benedikt Taschen asked Annie Leibovitz, the foremost portrait photographer currently active, to compile her images into a SUMO-sized book, the challenge intrigued her.
The project took several years to develop. Finally, when it was published in 2014, the book weighed 26 kg.
This incredible collection is now available in a more accessible XXL format.
The SUMO by Annie Leibovitz traces the history of pop culture, from Queen Elizabeth II to Richard Nixon, Laurie Anderson, Keith Haring, and Lady Gaga.
In Leibovitz’s words: “What I initially conceived as a fairly simple process of imagining which photographs looked good and worked in large format, became something more. The book is very personal, but the storytelling relies on popular culture. It is not arranged chronologically and is not a retrospective. It is more like a roller coaster.”
Fans of Leibovitz and the many pop culture subjects captured in her photographs now have the chance to enjoy that same roller coaster with this unlimited edition.
