Wuthering Heights
Charli xcx explores the British gothic in Wuthering Heights, an album conceived as the soundtrack for the new film adaptation of Wuthering Heights directed by Emerald Fennell. More than “setting,” the music acts as an atmosphere: desire, roughness, uneasy romance, and that emotional violence that runs through Emily Brontë.
The first notice is “House” alongside John Cale, with a raw and ghostly texture that pushes the story toward a realm of shadow and electricity. “Chains of Love” shifts the pulse to a more melodic plane but keeps the tension between beauty and threat that turns emotion into landscape.
The green and black vinyl edition cares for every detail: individual numbering, fold-out sleeve type gatefold, semi-transparent interior, label with lace-like motif, and a ribbon that wraps the record. Includes a booklet of lyrics in an envelope.
