Rosa Chacel’s diaries represent a landmark in 20th-century Spanish literature. With this new edition, we offer a new commercial life for the three volumes of her diaries, Alcancía: Ida, Vuelta y Estación Termini, twenty years after their inclusion in the complete works of the Jorge Guillén Foundation. This edition — with a foreword and notes by the writer Elena Medel — seeks to reclaim these pages as a complete literary work, on par, for example, with her novelistic output, and also to reclaim a writer who, due to extraliterary circumstances, is often omitted from generational accounts and other overviews.
