Pure Heroine
Pure Heroine is Lorde's debut album, released in 2013, and one of the key pop records of the last decade. With minimal production based on electronic beats, deep bass, and atmospheres close to electropop and dream pop, Lorde composes here a portrait of late adolescence, suburban life, and exposure to fame from a critical and very personal perspective.
Songs like Tennis Court, 400 Lux, Royals, or Team combine sharp lyrics with very restrained structures, far from conventional radio pop. Throughout the ten tracks, the album explores themes such as disillusionment with luxury models, intimacy among very close friendships, and identity construction in a hyperexposed world, establishing Lorde as one of the most unique voices of her generation.
